It is classified as an exotic leather alongside crocodile, lizard, python and ostrich, each with its own distinctive traits. Its charm lies in the tiny scales that cover it like scattered glass beads and a cool touch at your fingertips, like feeling a Mediterranean sea breeze.
Made of calcium phosphate, the same substance as human teeth, it is far harder and more difficult to work with than other leathers, yet it is famous for strength and durability so great that it is said to last 100 years.
The interior uses goatskin, a lightweight leather that is soft to the touch and highly resistant to abrasion. With its distinctive uneven grain and characteristic pore pattern, it is strong and holds its shape well even when thin.
