Script: a zip-around leather case for fountain pens that carries a trace of the scriptorium.
In medieval scriptoria, scribes wrote words one letter at a time on parchment.
The name “Script” was inspired by the Latin word meaning “to write.”
Script is a zip-around pen case for which a single leather craftsman handles every step, from cutting the leather to sewing.
Neat stitches that only hand sewing can achieve. Because it is a tool used every day, we focused on a construction that lets you use it for a long time.
■ Why every piece is hand-stitched
1. Durable and resistant to fraying
Hand stitching proceeds by firmly tightening the thread with every stitch. With machine stitching, a single break can cause the seam to unravel in a chain, but with hand stitching the fraying is unlikely to spread even if the thread breaks.
2. Tailored to the thickness and firmness of the leather
Leather differs in thickness and softness depending on the part of the hide and its color. With hand stitching, the craftsman can adjust the tension while feeling the leather with the fingertips, resulting in even stitches and a beautiful finish.
3. The stitches themselves are beautiful
Hand-sewn stitches are plump, three-dimensional and uniform. The stitch color you choose stands out beautifully against the outer leather.
■ Made one by one, for each customer
You can freely combine the colors of the outer leather, inner suede and stitching to your liking.
■ Gently holds four pens
Open the zipper to store four pens. Soft suede dividers (pen separators) keep the pens from touching each other, and a band lightly holds them in place. The base of the interior is also suede, making it gentle on your pens.
■ Designed so the zipper does not scratch your pens
With zip-around pen cases, pens may hit the zipper and get scratched. To prevent this, we added the following two features.
• Suede zipper cover: prevents contact between the pens and the zipper when inserting and removing them.
• Original pen guard: the three-dimensionally molded pen guard keeps pens from slipping downward and prevents scratches from the zipper.
■ Option: leather zipper pull
If you do not select the leather zipper pull option, the case comes with a metal pull.
■ Option: left-side memo pocket
Holds a thin notebook such as A7 size, up to about 4 mm thick.

From “Rugato” by the Belgian tannery Masure:

Rugato features translucent, deep dyeing with shading patterns that bring out the natural wrinkles of the hide. (Rugato can be chosen for every part of the exterior and interior.)

Cocciniglia (reddish brown)
Cognac (camel)
Petrolio (blue-green)
Oliva (green)

Pueblo has a scratch-finished surface that makes scratches from use less noticeable, and it shows a significant change in color and texture over time.
(As Pueblo is an oiled leather, it can be chosen for the exterior only, not for interior parts.)
