Leather artisan Tadashi Sakamoto has supported the craftsmanship of one of Japan's leading leather brands for many years. Built on his extensive experience and skill, FOCUS LIGHT sheds new light on materials, tools and techniques to redefine the value of leather goods. The zip-around bifold wallet “CENT” is an expression of that approach.
The body uses premium Dauphin leather from Haas, known as France's oldest tannery. Two stages of fine embossing produce delicate tonal variations and a dimensional grain with rich depth. Combining the suppleness of calfskin with moderate firmness, this leather is also used by leading luxury houses. Here it extends to the lining in a luxurious all-leather construction.
An all-in-one design carries banknotes, coins and cards together. The card section on the left also serves as an open pocket for cards and receipts. A flap coin case sits on the right, with an open pocket behind it, bringing generous capacity and ease of use to a compact space. The zip-around closure keeps the contents secure while allowing them to be seen easily.
Black edges and zipper tape frame the leather, emphasizing its presence with a crisp finish. A smooth-running YKK EXCELLA zipper in silver adds a refined accent. Edges are built up in multiple coats and polished, and delicate stitching uses thread slightly lighter than the leather. These details reflect Sakamoto's craftsmanship and aesthetic care.
