At Kichijitsu, we mainly use brass hardware.
To balance the supple texture of the leather, each piece of hardware, such as frame joints and studs, is finished by hand one by one.
On the right is the original state. As is, the edges and texture simply don't match the leather and look out of place.
That is why we chamfer each piece, give it a matte finish and apply an anti-rust treatment before use.
The soft curves and random hairline finish blend gently with the leather.
It may be a difference you would not notice unless told, but this harmony of materials is exactly what we want to create at Kichijitsu.
And I believe it is part of the process that leads to the truly "good things" I aim for.
