②Beyond genre

Once upon a time, I had a chance to talk with a joinery shop in Kyoto and a furniture craftsman in Ibaraki, although they were in different industries.
What I heard there was a common struggle that everyone has.
``I know it's a waste, but the only way to dispose of surplus materials is to burn them.''
The environment surrounding wood resources is not always bright.
Globally, the speed at which forests grow and the demand for timber remain in a precarious balance.
I realized that although our industries and materials are different, we all share the same feeling of worry: ``I don't want to waste valuable lives (materials), but I can't do anything about it.''
One day, some time after that encounter, I had the opportunity to meet the woodworking craftsmen again.
This was not a big environmental problem, but rather a small promise to solve a ``familiar problem'' that was within our reach.
After the coronavirus pandemic, our daily lives have completely changed.
That's why we stopped and asked the question again.
"Let's create things based on the premise that all resources are limited."
