This time, we’re introducing the Thomas Wear Bridle Leather Money Clip.
On this page, we’ll explain the finer specifications and the care we’ve put into making this item, which couldn’t all fit on the main product listing.

First, let’s talk about the exterior and interior.

It has a timeless, classic design.
This is part of BRUSH’s Hand-Stitched Collection, where every part except the hidden interior lining seams is hand-sewn.
For the design, the logo is a simple, foil-free debossed stamp so you can fully enjoy the natural texture and aging process of the bridle leather.

In terms of functionality, there’s a zippered coin pocket on the front. When opened, the left side has three card slots and a hidden pocket, while the right side has one card slot and a 'flap pocket'.

The leather used is British bridle leather from Thomas Wear & Sons Co.
It has that signature firm, taut feel of bridle leather, with beautiful, grainy bloom and rich, deep British tones as its standout features.
Naturally, the exterior uses this leather, but even the opened interior is fully lined with the same bridle leather for an incredibly luxurious build.

There are four color options: Black, Dark Navy, British Green, and Wine.

Next, we’ll walk through each function one by one.

First, the exterior coin pocket. The interior of the coin pocket and the gusset are also lined with bridle leather for another touch of luxury.
I think the most common concern with this style of coin pocket is, of course, storage capacity.

We can’t stuff coins into a sample product for this demo, so I’ll use my personal Hasegawa money clip to show you how it works.
I grabbed some loose change—about 13 coins total.

I put them in. Can you see that there’s still plenty of room even in the photos?
Even in real-world use, it feels like there’s still space for more.
However, we don’t recommend overstuffing it full, as that can cause the wallet to warp or lose its shape.
Please think of it as a temporary pocket just for storing loose change you get as change from purchases.

The zipper is a YKK Excella zipper.
The logo pull tab is sleek and stylish.

Three Card Slots
Another detail you’ll want to notice is the flawless stitching work on the interior.

Let’s slide a card into one of the slots. The back of each card slot is a hidden pocket.
Since it’s a bit tricky to slide cards in and out if you have bills clamped in the money clip spring, we recommend storing cards you don’t use often here.

The money clip spring has two stages of opening and closing.

Second stage. It doesn’t look like it opens this far during regular use.

Let’s clamp a bill in it. The satisfying 'snap' sound when you close the clip adds a fun little gimmicky touch that makes using it enjoyable.
You can also pull bills out even with the clip left open.
If you pull it out smoothly, it makes a cool, sharp 'shwip' sound.

The right-side pocket functions as both a card slot and a flap pocket, so you can clamp bills in it for secure storage, just like this.

You can also use the flap pocket to hold cards without clamping bills in it.
In that case, you gain an extra card storage slot.

It looks like this. You can’t see it here, but there’s a card tucked into the flap pocket too.

The money clip is so slim that you’ll sometimes forget you have it in your pocket.
Right after its release, we received a review from a customer on the Creema marketplace site.

They said it looks slimmer and sharper than it appears in photos. Thank you so much for the kind feedback!

In terms of how it feels to use, even though it’s a slim build, it’s made from full bridle leather, so it will be quite stiff when you first start using it.
The coin pocket especially will take some time to break in (about a month), so start by only carrying a small amount of items to help the leather soften up naturally, instead of overstuffing it right away.
Before you know it, the coin storage capacity and ease of accessing your change will improve significantly.
I think you’ll also grow attached to the unique breaking-in process that comes with bridle leather.

For reference on thickness, I lined up my personal money clip next to this sample.
The left one is brand new and completely empty.
The right one has been used for six months, with six cards, 13 coins, and four bills inside.
When brand new, it will pop open when you add items, but after breaking it in, it will close neatly just like the right one, as designed.

I measured it: with that load of items, it’s about 23mm thick.
If you want to switch to a slimmer wallet, this is a great recommendation.

As a bonus: these two photos are of the exact same money clip, but after storing it for a month, the bloom (white waxy film) had increased significantly.
I’d heard that bloom, which is rubbed into the leather, will rise to the surface as the leather ages, but I’d never seen it become this prominent before.
The amount of bloom varies from piece to piece, but typically it looks like the first photo. Some pieces will have less, and some will have more.
