Born in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, in 1976.

From a young age, I loved using my hands to make all kinds of things: Legos, plastic model kits, radio-controlled cars, cardboard crafts, and more.
I never just admired finished pieces—I’d take them apart to learn how they worked, then put them back together. That curiosity still forms the core of my approach to crafting today.
After graduating high school, I worked as an auto mechanic, but I quit because I wanted to create things with my hands even more. Later, after living in Australia and working a corporate job, I taught myself how to make accessories.
Eventually, I spent roughly 8 years designing and making accessories at a long-established jewelry shop in Tokyo, honing my craft.
It was after all this experience that ajina was born.

In Japan, people and items like this have long been called "ajina".

That’s why I named my brand ajina.
That’s why I don’t just handle the design—every step, from selecting materials to crafting and finishing, is done carefully and entirely by my own hands.
Whether working with silver or leather, I prioritize honoring the natural beauty of each material and bringing out its full, unique charm.
I also strive to create pieces that aren’t just beautiful to look at, but also easy and enjoyable to use.
